AI Policy

The texts on this site were carefully written by a human being, and not AI-generated.

"If you didn't bother to write it, I won't bother to read it" is a mindset I fully endorse when it comes to essays on these topics.

That being said, any good knowledge worker should of course use the best tools available to them to produce the best possible material for their readers. As has been the case since the invention of the typewriter, the computer, or the internet. In the process of writing, therefore, I use flagship AI models to help me with ideation and research in preparation for writing. Anything less, and I would not be creating the most comprehensive and meaningful material that I can today, with the tools available to me. I also use AI as part of the editing process, to ask for editing suggestions as one would a friend or colleague. But I will never simply let an AI model generate essays for me, and then present them as though I wrote them myself.
